On the contrary, Infantino considers that the organization of the 2025 AFCON was excellent and that Morocco has been a remarkable host, providing infrastructure and hospitality worthy of the event.
This decision also seems to be an indirect response to Spain, which had launched a campaign to push FIFA to remove Morocco from the co-hosting of the 2030 World Cup. Several Spanish journalists and influencers harshly criticized the towel incident, as well as certain refereeing decisions deemed favorable to Morocco throughout the tournament.

These publications were seen as a direct counter-argument to the Spanish statement, highlighting the preparation and quality of Moroccan infrastructure.
For now, FIFA has not yet commented on Rafael Louzan’s statement, and all indications suggest that the 2030 World Cup final will likely be held in Spain.
