In a statement released this Saturday, the DFB confirmed that it has reached a preliminary agreement with Jürgen Klopp to take over the Nationalmannschaft. The former Liverpool manager is now close to succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, although several formalities still need to be sorted out before his appointment is officially announced.
According to the German Federation, a decisive meeting took place on Friday in New York between DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, Vice President Hans-Joachim Watzke, and Jürgen Klopp. The discussions, described as “constructive” by the association, allowed the parties to agree on the main elements of a future contract.
