The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) clarified on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, regarding a video circulating on social media, showing players and staff members of the Senegal national team during a security check at the airport.
Contrary to the information shared online, the FSF states that the scene did not occur upon the delegation’s arrival in San Antonio. They specify that the check took place on June 7, 2026, in Raleigh, during boarding, before the flight departed.
The Americans’ checks, I’ll talk about them in my next book. They let absolutely nothing slide, even Pathé with his plastic shoes 😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ pic.twitter.com/0NBGp8sIGr

According to the federation, the logistical setup included a direct transfer from the hotel to the airport tarmac. This arrangement allowed the delegation to complete security and police formalities right at the foot of the plane, without going through the usual terminal areas.
The FSF explains that this procedure aimed to streamline the movement and reduce delays before the flight to San Antonio, where the Senegalese team is currently staying.
The Senegalese clown Pathé Ciss experienced the strictness of U.S. customs, which searched him thoroughly like a smuggler 🤣. Even his transparent plastic shoes were scrutinized by the customs officer at the airport.
