The Cameroon national football team coach Marc Brys is expected at the headquarters of the Cameroonian Football Federation next Tuesday for a meeting.

It’s another seismic event hitting Cameroonian football. Last Tuesday, Samuel Eto’o decided to outright dismiss Marc Brys, the coach he had recently endorsed for the position, relying on a decision from the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the Cameroonian National Olympic Committee rendered earlier that day. With the National Olympic Committee of Cameroon deciding not to recognize the staff appointed by Eto’o around Marc Brys, the president of FECAFOOT in turn decided to sack the Belgian technician and his entire staff.

However, Marc Brys is once again summoned to the Cameroonian Football Federation. The Belgian coach, whom FECAFOOT still recognizes as the head coach of the Indomitable Lions, is expected at Tsinga next Tuesday, just 5 days before the start of the training camp. While the agenda of the session has not been revealed, there could be an initial meeting between the Belgian and Samuel Eto’o. But everything suggests that FECAFOOT wants to look ahead.

The Indomitable Lions are preparing for the World Cup qualifiers with two upcoming matches against Cape Verde on June 8 and Angola on June 11. However, given the current environment, speculations abound. For some, FECAFOOT wants to discuss technical matters a few days before the match against Cape Verde. For others, it’s about reviewing player call-ups. Every supporter of the Indomitable Lions has their own take.

“We’ve heard everything about this issue already. Opinions are needlessly intertwining. Did we have to come to this? For almost a month now, we’ve been going in circles. We play Cape Verde on June 8. There’s no serenity. How can the players perform in such an environment? As long as the Ministry of Sports and FECAFOOT don’t sit down at a table, we won’t get anywhere,” said Ibrahim Moustapha, a supporter of the Indomitable Lions.
