Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Fecafoot, has once again made headlines.

According to information reported by Allezleslions, the renowned former striker of the Indomitable Lions has decided to be conspicuously absent from an important meeting convened by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education of Cameroon, Mouelle Kombi.

This meeting was supposed to evaluate the progress of preparations for the match against Cape Verde and to examine measures to ensure a good performance by the Indomitable Lions against Angola.

Indeed, according to the media, Samuel Eto’o is currently in Benin in the company of Lionel Talon, the son of Benin’s President Patrice Talon.

Persistent tensions between Fecafoot and the Ministry of Sports During the meeting on May 29th, recommendations were made regarding the organization of the match against Cape Verde.

But it seems that not all points have been settled yet, prompting Eto’o to disappear. These two matches against Cape Verde and Angola are of crucial importance to Cameroon.

They are the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, a competition that the Indomitable Lions definitely do not want to miss after their early elimination at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Financially as well, these matches represent major stakes. Broadcasting rights and ticket revenues are essential to replenish the coffers of Fecafoot, which is facing recurring difficulties.

Eto’o’s absence is therefore likely to have a negative impact on the preparation and performance of the national team.

Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Sports and Fecafoot will have to quickly find a compromise and a solution to ensure the proper organization of these two crucial matches. Cameroonian football cannot afford another setback.

Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Fecafoot, has once again made headlines.
