Amrouche stated in a brief conversation with the “Auras” platform that national coach Vladimir Petkovic failed to select the appropriate players for this match. The Algerian coach continued by saying that the Swiss technician chose players who hold onto the ball too much, which he believes is one of the reasons for the failure against the Guinean team.

Regarding the exclusion of Algerian team star Riyad Mahrez, Amrouche declared that the absence of the Al-Ahli Saudi player was absolutely not the reason for the Algerian team’s defeat. The former coach of the Burundi and Botswana teams added that Mahrez is no longer the influential player in the Algerian team lineup, and that his presence or absence would not have changed anything, according to his statements.

Despite this, the former coach of the Tanzanian national team defended Bosnian technician Vladimir Petkovic, stating that he needs time to get to know his players. Amrouche believes that there are players who deserve to be called up to represent the Algerian team in upcoming challenges, such as Fares Chaibi who leads the ranking of best assisters in European competition with his German club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Amrouche praised Al-Raed Saudi player Amir Sayoud, considering him one of the most notable absentees from Vladimir Petkovic’s lineup. Amrouche wished the Algerian team good luck for their upcoming match against Uganda, as part of the fourth round of World Cup qualifications.
