As the 2024-2025 season approaches, tensions have flared between Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), and local clubs.

Seven months after the conclusion of the last Elite One season, Fecafoot is planning to resume between the end of November and early December. In preparation, the federation has sent clubs the marketing charter and sponsor qualification forms for the upcoming season, with a deadline of November 8 for ratification.

However, the General Assembly of the Association of Cameroonian Elite Clubs (ACEC) has yet to sign these documents, leaving the season’s start in doubt. It’s inconceivable to enter a new season without being paid for the last one.”
