During this much-anticipated evening, the African Player of the Year award will reveal its new winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.afriquesports.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/CAF_Awards_20231702498608367-format4by3-1624x1218.jpg\" alt=\"African Ballon d\u2019Or 2024: CAF Reveals the Highly Anticipated Date!\" class=\"wp-image-835485\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guirassy and Lookman in the Spotlight<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Five finalists are in the running for this ultimate honor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Simon Adindra (Brighton), the Ivorian and reigning African champion with the Elephants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serhou Guirassy (Dortmund), the Guinean prolific striker, considered the favorite.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ademola Lookman (Atalanta), the Nigerian who played a key role in his club&#8217;s Europa League triumph.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns), the exceptional South African goalkeeper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Achraf Hakimi (PSG), the Moroccan full-back recently crowned Lion d\u2019Or by <em>Al Mountakhab<\/em> newspaper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, the trophy was won by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, succeeding Senegalese forward Sadio Man\u00e9, a two-time winner in 2019 and 2022.
