A heated duel at the Metropolitano was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ancelotti&#8217;s men emerged victorious, and celebrated their hard-earned qualification against the Colchoneros. This match sparked numerous controversies, the main one being Julian Alvarez&#8217;s disallowed penalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Atletico Madrid, the pill was hard to swallow, as the club&#8217;s management not only constantly expressed their disagreement with their striker&#8217;s disallowed shot, but also believed that several Real Madrid players had crossed the line during their victory celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days after the match, Atletico Madrid submitted videos to UEFA showing certain actions by the Whites that warranted punishment.
