The Catalan police have reportedly opened a preliminary investigation following allegations of sexual assault against Ansu Fati’s brother, who currently plays for AS Monaco. According to Spanish media outlet ABC, a Dutch national, who spent the evening at the Shoko nightclub in Barcelona with Fatinho Junior, brother of the Spanish international, claims she was a victim of sexual assault early Sunday morning on the outskirts of the Catalan capital.
According to her testimony, the young woman stated she woke up naked next to Fatinho Junior, with no clear memory of the events that took place during the night. She suspects him of sexually assaulting her while she was allegedly under the influence of illicit substances. She was taken to the hospital for medical examinations, but no traces of drugs were found in her system. However, specialists remind us that in certain situations, substances can be quickly eliminated from the body, making detection difficult several hours after the alleged incidents.
An official investigation has been launched by the Catalan authorities to shed light on this matter and establish the exact circumstances of that night. Meanwhile, Fatinho Junior’s camp has firmly denied these accusations, rejecting any involvement in the alleged events.
At this stage, investigations are ongoing and no conclusions have yet been reached by the relevant authorities.
