Ivory Coast emerged as the champions of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, securing a 2-1 win over Nigeria.
The Ivory Coast team clinched their third African title, following their triumphs in 1992 and 2015, by defeating the Nigerian Super Eagles. Emerse Faé and his team achieved the remarkable feat of winning the trophy on their home soil.
Emmanuel Adebayor, a celebrated figure in African football, was chosen by CAF to present the trophy on the field. He extended his congratulations to the Elephants on their victory. “It was a tremendous joy to present the AFCON trophy on the podium! This tournament was exceptionally thrilling, showcasing the skill and resolve of a new wave of African footballers.
