Afcon 2023: Another huge failure from Victor Osimhen against Ivory Coast

After Equatorial Guinea’s victory against Guinea Bissau earlier in the day, the pressure was on Nigeria who must win against Ivory Coast in the second day of the Afcon 2023. However, just seven minutes later kick-off, striker Victor Osimhen missed a golden opportunity which is already making the rounds on social networks.

Against Equatorial Guinea, Osimhen managed to secure a 1-1 draw with his first African Cup goal, but he also missed a valuable opportunity. This Thursday evening against Ivory Coast, the Nigerian striker unfortunately once again illustrated his ineffectiveness.

In the 7th minute, well launched by Samuel Chukuweze, the 2023 African Ballon d’Or found himself face to face with Fofana, the Ivorian goalkeeper. But Osimhen shot miserably in the air.
