Africa will be meeting in Côte d’Ivoire from 13 January to 11 February for the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations. With just a week to go before the competition kicks off, some teams are already making their way to Didier Drogba’s homeland.

The CAN 2023 kicks off next Saturday in Côte d’Ivoire. With less than a week to go, the teams are getting ready, like the Elephants, who yesterday soundly beat Sierra Leone 5-1 thanks to an excellent Jérémie Boga, who scored and set up.

After Jean-Louis Gasset’s men, it was Mali’s turn to crush Guinea Bissau, 6-2. Mama Balde’s team are due to travel to Côte d’Ivoire, the venue for the tournament, on Sunday 7 January. Guinea Bissau is not the only team expected to play on Sunday. Walid Regragui’s Morocco also travel to Côte d’Ivoire on 07 January.

Quarter-finalists at the last edition in Cameroon, the Atlas Lions are in Group F alongside two-time champions DRC, 2012 winners Zambia and Tanzania’s Taifa Stars. Morocco, champions in 1976, are making their 19th appearance at the African Cup.

Semi-finalists at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Walid Regragui’s men are among the favourites for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. They are due to arrive at Félix Houphouët Boigny international airport on Sunday at 13:40 GMT. Two hours later, at 15:40 GMT, it will be Guinea Bissau’s turn to set foot on Ivorian soil for the CAN 2023.

Senegal and Egypt expected in Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday for the Afcon 2023.

While Morocco and Guinea Bissau arrive in Côte d’Ivoire this Sunday for the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, a number of other teams are scheduled to start arriving on Monday 8 January 2024.

Tanzania will be the first team to land in Côte d’Ivoire on Monday. Their arrival is scheduled for 12:00 GMT. At 20:00 GMT, it is the turn of the Pharaohs and Mohamed Salah to set foot on Côte d’Ivoire soil. But before Egypt, Mozambique, who eliminated Steve Mounie’s Benin, are due to arrive at Félix Houphouët Boigny international airport at 17:00 GMT on Tuesday. Senegal will also arrive in Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday, but the time has yet to be confirmed.
