While football aficionados are still reliving the memorable moments of that unforgettable CAF Africa Cup of Nations, interest is now turning to the next edition, to be held in Morocco. The Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) recently reaffirmed its confidence in Walid Regragui, despite the Atlas Lions’ early elimination from the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations. This confirmation was accompanied by a significant announcement: the next African Cup of Nations will be held in the summer.

However, it appears that plans have evolved rapidly. Rumours circulating on social networks this Saturday indicate that the dates for the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco have been set. Although summer remains the chosen season, the tournament will be held from 23 July to 21 August. The decision to reschedule is said to be linked to the organisation of the Club World Cup, which is also scheduled to take place during this period in 2025.

For the 2025 African Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers in Morocco, Algeria have been drawn in Group G. It will face Guinea Conakry, Congo, Guinea-Bissau, Namibia and Sao-Tomé.
