The Senegalese international Krépin Diatta has categorically denied the allegations made against him following the defeat to Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16.
In his written response to the African Football Confederation (CAF)’s request for an explanation, the Monaco player rejected claims of disrespect towards the governing body of African football.
Subject to a disciplinary procedure by the CAF, Krépin Diatta faces serious consequences, according to well-informed sources.
Meanwhile, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has refuted rumors of a harsh penalty being imposed on the former Club Brugge player.

Unless there’s a dramatic turn of events, Krépin Diatta is unlikely to avoid CAF sanctions.
The reason being, he significantly misstepped after the match against the “Elephants” of Ivory Coast.
A video that has been circulating on social media clearly shows the Senegalese international criticizing the African Football Confederation (CAF).
“You’ve killed us, you’re corrupt. Keep your Africa Cup,” Diatta was heard saying.
“Everyone saw it. You can’t decide the fate of a whole country like this. It’s unbelievable. You go to VAR to give them a penalty, a guy (Ismaïla Sarr) who takes the ball 40 meters and makes a run, enters the box, and you don’t want to check VAR? I’m sorry, but this is outrageous. I’m really sorry, but they’ve ruined our competition,” he continued.
