Patrice Motsepe, the South African president of the African Football Confederation (CAF), has spoken about setting the date for the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Morocco in 2025.
During a press conference held in Abidjan on Friday, February 9, Motsepe stated, “I won’t make any announcements at this time; we will do so when appropriate, as discussions are still ongoing.”
He further mentioned, “In fact, there are many competitions happening simultaneously. We are confident that we will be able to identify suitable dates.”
Motsepe also assured, “I tell the Moroccan people and the African nations that the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations next year will be a great success.”
It is important to note that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has indicated that the next edition of the Africa Cup, to be hosted by Morocco, is set to take place in the summer of 2025.
