The Algerian national team, led by coach Djamel Belmadi, has begun serious preparations for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.

The National Technical Center at Sidi Moussa, southwest of Algiers, has welcomed a number of players who have already begun training according to a specific program.

The Fennecs coach has opted for a different strategy to motivate his players ahead of the next Africa Cup of Nations. From the outset of the training camp, he has concentrated on the psychological aspect.

The players are gradually arriving at the Sidi Moussa center until next Monday. The Algerian delegation will take a special flight to Lomé to begin their pre-competition training.

Belmadi motivates his players

Meanwhile, the Algerian coach held a meeting with the players present to discuss what lies ahead.

Although the squad is not yet complete, Africa’s best coach of 2019 preferred to convey a message about the importance of the challenge ahead and the need to work hard to deliver a performance worthy of the Algerian name.

A number of players have joined the Green camp in recent hours, preferring to join the preparations quickly after the end of their commitments with their clubs.

These include Anthony Mandrea, number one goalkeeper for French club Caen, and Kevin Guitoun, right-back for French club Metz. Nabil Bentaleb, who shone with Lille in France this season, is also among the recent arrivals.
