According to Record, Aliou Cissé, former head coach of the Senegalese national team, has firmly denied rumors linking him to the Fédération de Football de la République Islamique de Mauritanie (FFRIM).
These speculations arose after Mauritanian journalist Saikou Seydi claimed that the FFRIM had approached the Senegalese coach to replace Amir Abdou. “I have no negotiations with the Fédération de Football de la République Islamique de Mauritanie,” Aliou Cissé stated, putting an end to the allegations.
However, the former coach of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champions has not ruled out other opportunities. According to Record, Cissé has expressed interest in new challenges, particularly with prominent clubs such as Al Ahly and Zamalek, the heavyweights of Egyptian football.
This openness aligns with recent comments from Alioune Touré, a close advisor to Cissé, who mentioned several serious offers. “We’ve received proposals from two African teams (one a major club and the other a national team), as well as three Asian teams (one club and two national teams). It’s now up to him to reflect and decide in consultation with his advisors,” Touré explained.
Aliou Cissé appears to be at a crossroads, ready to take on a new challenge, whether at the helm of a club or leading a national team.
