The Minister of Sports has shared her opinion on the appointment of the next head coach for the National Team, who will replace Aliou Cissé.
After nearly a decade of collaboration, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), guided by the Ministry, now faces the task of selecting the ideal successor to Aliou Cissé. This decision is pivotal for maintaining the impressive legacy of “El-Tactico.” The Federation is inclined to prioritize local expertise, with several strong candidates in the running. Leading the list is Habib Beye, closely followed by Omar Daf, the current coach of Amiens, and interim coach Pape Thiaw, all regarded as credible choices to lead the Lions of Teranga to future successes.

The Minister of Sports, Mrs. Khady Diène Gaye, has nevertheless reaffirmed her trust in the governing body of Senegalese football to make the best possible decision.
“I have had discussions with the President of the Senegalese Football Federation, and we are awaiting their proposal. I trust them to present the candidate they believe suitable to lead the national team. Deadlines are approaching quickly. A local coach? The Federation is working on it as we speak. You know, everything is open to discussion! There are many priorities to manage in the country, but we shall see,” she stated during a special broadcast on Walfadjiri TV.
