Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, former teammate of Mesut Özil at Arsenal, had an excellent season with Marseille this year.
Despite Marseille’s struggles in the league this season, their Gabonese forward has been a consistent performer in several matches.
In fact, Aubameyang clinched the Europa League top scorer title this season after Marseille made it to the semi-finals of the competition. He now holds the record for most goals in Europa League history, surpassing Colombian striker Radamel Falcao.
After a tough season with Chelsea last year, Aubameyang bounced back brilliantly in Ligue 1. He was even named the best African player in Ligue 1 this season, winning the RFI Marc-Vivien Foé award.
Following the conclusion of the season, the former Arsenal striker sat down for an interview with Colinterview and answered the host’s questions.
Aubameyang also discussed his time at Arsenal and spoke about his former teammate Mesut Özil.
“It’s crazy, you enjoy playing with him. He had something special with those big eyes, he saw everything. He’s in the top 3 of the best midfielders I’ve played with, alongside Gündogan and Mkhitaryan,” he said.
