As the internet was ablaze with the Hervé Renard and FECAFOOT affair, revelations emerged that surprised many.

According to Shance Lion, the French coach can no longer coach an African team simply because his style of play is already known in Africa.

“Despite his illustrious record of 2 African championship titles in 2012 with Zambia and 2015 with Ivory Coast, Hervé Renard is a coach who can no longer bring anything to an African selection.

His style of play is already known by African teams. All the teams already know him. Moreover, during his last stint as head coach of an African national team, namely Morocco, with all its stars, he was eliminated in the Round of 16 of the 2019 AFCON by the smaller Benin. That same night, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation sacked him. Before the 2019 AFCON, still as the coach of Morocco, he had already been eliminated in the Quarterfinals of the 2017 AFCON by Egypt,” among other things, was read.

Note that these revelations come in the wake of the uproar over Hervé Renard’s salary as coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. It should be recalled that the French coach was among those retained by FECAFOOT to coach the Cameroonian national team. And if the Cameroonian Ministry of Sports had validated his candidacy, he would have received an annual salary of 1.6 billion CFA francs. A piece of news that surprised many.

“Schools in the open air or under trees, without desks, without teaching staff. Absence of hospitals, roads, security personnel in many localities. We are a poor country, very poor indeed.

But unfortunately, what interests us is football, to the point of wanting to pay over a billion to an individual to coach a team that will play 3 or 4 times in a year. Let’s wake up, dear Cameroonians,” they reacted.

Later, it was learned that Cameroonian authorities rejected this proposal and instead chose Belgian coach Marc Brys. The latter is already in Cameroon to sign his contract.
