Patrice Motsepe, at the helm of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) since 2021, does not rule out seeking a second term.

In an interview with France 24, Patrice Motsepe commented on hot topics within the continental football body. When asked about his likely candidacy in 2025 for a second term, the South African leader did not shut the door on this possibility.

For Patrice Motsepe, the goal is to establish a solid foundation and management team to be able to be replaced if necessary. However, the owner of Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club does not rule out a second term either.

Motsepe emphasizes the need to ensure that the progress made is not undone. Elected in April 2021 for a four-year term, the South African billionaire succeeded Madagascar’s Ahmad Ahmad, who was suspended from all football-related activities for two years. According to reliable sources, Patrice Motsepe seems inclined to run for a second term.
