Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana is reportedly not keen on the idea of taking part with Cameroon in the next edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2023).

According to the latest news, the former FC Barcelona academy student wants to remain available to the Manchester club, which will be playing some important matches in the coming weeks.

This position is explained by the fragility of his position in the team, as he has been widely criticized for his disappointing performances since the start of the season.

Onana forced to play at the CAN?

According to Cameroonian sources, the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) is not prepared to let André Onana’s feet be trodden.

In this respect, it is expected that Onana’s name will be included in the list of 27 “Indomitable Lions” who will be invited to take part in the CAN.

Following this, the player would be forced to sit out the Red Devils’ matches if he decides to decline the invitation to play for Cameroon.

André Onana has played 35 matches for the five-time African champions, scoring 16 clean sheets and conceding 30 goals.
