The President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto’o, is optimistic about Cameroon’s chances in the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2024).

“It’s true that we’re not expected on the final podium, but don’t forget that we are Cameroon and Cameroon remains Cameroon,” he said in a statement on the sidelines of the Cameroon “Ballon d’Or” award ceremony.

“We will humbly go to Côte d’Ivoire to share this moment of happiness with our African brothers. And we hope our team will put in one of the best performances of the tournament,” he continued.

Samuel Eto’o believes

The strong man of Cameroonian soccer believes that the “National Team” has what it takes to win a 6th continental crown, following on from those of 1984, 1988, 2000, 2002 and 2017.

The mission of the five-time African champions will not be an easy one, especially as they face stiff competition from such highly competitive nations as Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Algeria, Tunisia and Nigeria.
