Adjustments are needed to the Senegalese national team’s November schedule.

Although the Lions of Teranga are on course to qualify for the CAN 2025, a postponement of their final match against Burundi may be unavoidable due to Senegal’s parliamentary elections scheduled for November 17.

According to Les Echos, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has officially asked CAF to move the match to November 18 or 19, 2024. In addition, Senegal will face Burkina Faso on November 14, 2024, a match initially scheduled for Abidjan but which will finally take place at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako. This change of venue is due to stadium homologation constraints for Burkina Faso, who, lacking a suitable pitch, are hoping to benefit from the support of the Malian public.

Les Echos recalls the intensity of the soccer rivalry between Senegal and Mali, adding an extra dimension to this encounter. The Senegalese national team, coached by Pape Bouna Thiaw and Teddy Pellerin, continues to build on an excellent FIFA break in October. The Lions are aiming for top spot in Group L in their final matches, while maintaining the pace of their recent performances. With qualification for the African Cup of Nations already assured, Senegal are preparing for these final two matches with significant stakes.
