Armand Noutack II asks Cameroonians not to forget Choupo-Moting’s record with the national team.
Maxim Choupo-Moting will not be playing in the next Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Cameroon striker was not selected by Rigobert Song. His absence has been met with mixed reviews from Indomitable Lions fans. Some are shocked by his absence.
“Our compatriot Choupo wasn’t selected, that’s a fact, he doesn’t fit in with the coach’s tactical choices, it happens.
But trying to justify his non-selection by denigration, trying to present him as a player who has never contributed anything to Cameroon, wanting to blacken his career as I see some people doing is essentially unhealthy”, writes teacher Armand Noutack II.
The former member of the MRC board asks Cameroonians not to forget Choupo-Moting’s record with the national team:
“Let’s never forget that Choupo could have played for the German team, but out of patriotism he opted for Cameroon… Let’s at least respect that.
Let’s respect the flag he defended. Performance is not eternal, Choupo cannot shine forever, but that in no way detracts from the contribution he has made to the national team’s image.
