The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues to fine-tune the final preparations ahead of the big derby against Senegal, in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

According to the latest news, the coach of the “Leopards” intends to adequately prepare for the showdown against the “Lions”.

“We are focused on the June camp where we will gather the players a bit earlier than the FIFA dates because it’s the end of the season. We will start on May 29 in a preparatory camp to face Senegal and Togo,” he said in a statement to the Congolese press.

This is a good way for the French coach to prepare for this very important encounter in the qualifiers for the next World Cup.

DRC aims to break the curse!

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) national team aims to return to the World Cup stage. The last time the “Leopards” participated in this international tournament was in the 1974 edition held in West Germany.

As a reminder, the two-time African champions currently hold second place in Group B with 3 points, just one point behind the two leaders Senegal and Sudan.
