In the world of football, the FIFA ranking serves as a valuable barometer to assess the performance of various national teams. The March 2024 ranking is no exception, providing an insight into the global landscape of football.

Among the nations making a mark, African countries deserve particular attention, both for their rising prominence and the challenges they face.

FIFA Ranking: Morocco and Senegal in the Top 20 Worldwide!
At the top of the African ranking sits Morocco. With a commendable 12th position globally, the Lions of the Atlas maintain a solid presence among the world’s best teams despite their mixed performance in the last African Cup of Nations (CAN). Their consistent rise in the FIFA Ranking reflects the country’s ongoing commitment to football development.

Senegal closely follows at the 17th position in the global FIFA ranking. With a talented team and impressive performances on the international stage, the 2022 continental champions continue to embody the hope of a strong Africa in world football.

Nigeria and Ivory Coast Making Progress

As the runner-up of the 2024 CAN, Nigeria follows next at the 28th position. Despite some fluctuations in the ranking, the Super Eagles remain a formidable opponent on the field, boasting a rich pool of talent and a prestigious history in African football.

On the other hand, Egypt experiences a slight dip to the 36th position. Despite maintaining a respectable position, Mohamed Salah and his teammates, disappointing in the last CAN, seek to regain their former form and strengthen their position among the world’s top footballing nations.

Current African champion Ivory Coast now joins the Top 40 of the world’s best teams, occupying the 39th position. With a competitive team and a well-established football tradition, the Elephants continue to dignify the African continent.

Tunisia and Algeria in Freefall

Tunisia and Algeria have contrasting trajectories this month. While the Carthage Eagles slightly slip to the 41st rank, the Algerian Desert Foxes lose some places to settle at the 43rd position. These fluctuations reflect the challenges these teams face in an increasingly competitive environment.

Mali, Cameroon, and South Africa also maintain their positions in the top 60 of the FIFA ranking, illustrating the depth of football talent in Africa. These nations continue to proudly represent their colors on the world stage.

Beyond the prominent names in African football, teams like Cape Verde (65th) and Equatorial Guinea (79th) also deserve a special mention for their recent performances and potential for future growth.
