Guinea: Bad news for Guirassy in Germany

Announced with certainty to Bayern Munich next summer, Guinean forward Serhou Guirassy is unlikely to join the Bavarians anymore. The Munich club has apparently distanced itself from a transfer for the Syli striker. Meanwhile, the possibility of retaining Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is not ruled out.

Bayern Munich seemingly no longer holds interest in signing Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart this summer. This was reported by Sky Sport on Tuesday. The Munich club finds the Guinean’s release clause package and salary too expensive. Guirassy could leave Stuttgart at the end of the season for €20 million through a release clause, a sum deemed too high for Bayern Munich.

In February, Sport Bild had reported that Bayern had already agreed to attempt a transfer move for Guirassy. The Guinean has scored 22 goals in 20 Bundesliga matches this season. But according to Sky, the 28-year-old cannot envision a transfer to Munich for a backup role behind Harry Kane. The media suggests that Bayern is nevertheless considering recruiting another striker this summer to support the English captain, formerly of Tottenham. At the same time, the club has doubts about the future of Mathys Tel. Any potential purchase of a new center-forward would also depend on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s future, as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting Could Stay at Bayern

Guinea: Bad news for Guirassy in Germany

A retention of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting at Bayern Munich beyond the summer remains possible. However, according to Sky Sport, the Cameroonian forward, overlooked by Rigobert Song for the 2023 AFCON, has not yet been informed that no new contract will be offered to him. Choupo-Moting is highly regarded by players and enjoys the esteem of the executives. According to the media, sporting director Max Eberl and sports director Christoph Freund want to decide on the 34-year-old’s future with Thomas Tuchel’s successor as soon as he is found. Nevertheless, the current trend seems to lean towards separation. Choupo-Moting could then leave Bayern on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Although Thomas Tuchel offered his players a day off from training for the start of the international break, some professionals were on the pitch on Monday. Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Noussair Mazraoui, some of whom were recently absent due to injury, did an extra lap. Under the supervision of Professor Holger Broich, the quartet conducted a session of sprints and speed.
