Hervé Koffi, the goalkeeper for Burkina Faso’s national team, might finally be on the verge of breaking through into the spotlight of Europe’s top leagues.

Once hailed as a true prospect in Burkinabé and African football, Hervé Koffi has struggled to make his mark at the highest level in recent years.

Having had a stint at French club LOSC, the Etalons’ shot-stopper failed to establish himself in Ligue 1 and eventually had to depart the French league.

Since then, he has found his footing in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League with Charleroi, where he serves as the team’s starting goalkeeper.

His impressive performances for his club have caught the attention of RC Lens’s management, who are keen on acquiring his services.

Hervé Koffi is set to join RC Lens in the upcoming summer transfer window from Charleroi, with a transfer fee of €2 million reportedly agreed upon. The Lens-based club is said to be already planning for the departure of their current goalkeeper and captain, Brice Samba.

The French international is expected to move to the Saudi Pro League, where a highly lucrative contract awaits him.

With Brice Samba’s likely departure, Hervé Koffi, Burkina Faso’s goalkeeper, can now dream of a starting role at a prestigious club like RC Lens and finally showcase his talent to the world.

The Burkinabé international would sign a four-year contract with the Lens-based club.

As a reminder, RC Lens competed in the Champions League this season and narrowly missed out on qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.
