Out of contract with Everton in June 2025, Idrissa Gana Gueye could be set to leave the Premier League and Europe for a move to Qatar.
According to information from Africafoot, the Senegalese midfielder is being targeted by Al Duhail, leaders of the Qatari league. The club is reportedly ready to make him a particularly lucrative offer, one that could appeal to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champion.
As a free agent at the end of this season, Gueye is expected to carefully consider this opportunity, which may surpass all other financial offers. However, the “Lion” of the “Teranga” remains highly valued in Europe, presenting him with a crucial decision for the future of his career.
In the past, the Senegalese international had been targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs. Initially under contract with Everton for two years, set to end in June 2024, he extended his deal by an additional season last May. At 35 years old, Idrissa Gana Gueye is currently valued at €2 million (approximately 1.3 billion CFA) according to Transfermarkt. With 11 Premier League appearances this season, he also has 119 caps for the Senegal national team.
Faced with such an attractive financial offer, Gueye may be tempted, which would make him one of the highest-paid Senegalese players in the world.
