According to our sources, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, has reportedly requested that the Uganda-Algeria match be played in Morocco with the aim of hindering the Algerian team. Furthermore, Lekjaa is said to have offered his services to the Ugandans to organize not only their match against Algeria but also the one against Botswana. This maneuver could significantly influence the playing conditions and put the Algerian team in difficulty.

Additionally, Uganda is facing local concerns regarding the huge €24 million budget allocated for the restoration of the “Mandela National Stadium” located in Kampala, which has been delayed. Ugandan parliamentarians have demanded explanations from the government about the use of this investment, given that the stadium is not ready to host the match against Algeria.

These developments add an additional level of uncertainty and challenge for the Algerian team in their journey towards the 2026 World Cup.
