After a mixed half-season, Houssem Mrezigue remains highly regarded, having been approached by FC Makhachkala in Russia. However, the Chabab’s management does not wish to let him go and prefers to extend his contract.
Returning to Chabab after six months in Portugal without playing, the Algeria A’ team player quickly regained his place in the team. Although his performance isn’t at its best level, this is understandable after a year of inactivity due to injury. He has still shown his importance in certain matches. Chabab’s management wants to extend his contract, and Mrezigue is open to this idea.
Recently, Africa Foot reported that FC Makhachkala had invited Mrezigue for a potential transfer, contingent on passing tests. This raised questions, given his status as an international player and winner of the Arab Cup.
However, for Chabab’s management, Mrezigue is not for sale. They believe he deserves better than the Russian league and will soon return to his best form. Their priority is to extend his contract to avoid him leaving on a free transfer, as was the case with Draoui, Bouchar, and Sayoud recently.
