In the early summer transfer window of 2024, a prominent Belgian club is exerting significant pressure on a player from the Algerian national team to secure his signature.
Belgian media reports indicate that Anderlecht is considering a move for Abdelkahar Kadri, currently playing for Courtrai, during this transfer window. According to “onefootball,” citing “Het Nieuwsblad,” Anderlecht is seeking to bolster their squad with a creative and fast-paced playmaker, a role perfectly embodied by the Paradou Academy graduate.
The same report reveals that Anderlecht has already begun negotiations to finalize the transfer but has decided to wait while maintaining interest in Kadri’s services. Anderlecht believes that adding Kadri could significantly strengthen their team.
Kadri had initially planned to leave Courtrai last season, but club officials convinced him to stay, even appointing him as captain, which helped the team secure its place in the Jupiler Pro League.
This summer transfer window, Kadri has decided to leave Courtrai in search of better development opportunities. He favors Belgian clubs and has attracted interest from several teams, including Club Bruges, Genk, and Saint-Trond, the latter recently recruiting his compatriot Zinedine Belaid from USM Alger.
It is noted that Kadri has a release clause in his contract, the amount of which remains undisclosed, although his market value is estimated at around €2.5 million according to the specialized website “Transfermarkt.”
