After having to withdraw from the last gathering of the Algerian national team, captain Yacine Brahimi has received some very good news.
His contract with Al-Gharafa expired on June 30th, but it appears that the Algerian captain is set to continue his journey with the Qatari club. Despite strong speculation about a departure, Brahimi is included in the preseason roster of the Panthers.
Since the expiration of his contract, there has been no official announcement regarding a renewal. There were even rumors of a possible transfer to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, where Brahimi would reunite with his national team teammate Riyad Mahrez. However, according to the latest available information, the 34-year-old left winger looks set to extend his stay at Al-Gharafa.
Brahimi has established himself as a key player for Al-Gharafa and appears to remain in the club’s plans for the upcoming season. His presence on the preseason roster indicates a shared willingness to continue this successful collaboration, barring any last-minute surprises.
For Al-Gharafa supporters, this news comes as a breath of fresh air. Brahimi, with his experience and undeniable talent, brings invaluable added value to the team. It remains to be seen if an agreement will be officially sealed in the coming days, but for now, all signs point to an extension of the Algerian international’s adventure in Qatar.
