After suspending Berkane, CAF has set an ultimatum for USMA and the three other Algerian clubs qualified for African competitions.

Indeed, CAF has set July 16th as the deadline for the final submission of player lists for the Algerian clubs qualified for African competitions, namely MCA, CRB, CSC, and USMA.

As a reminder, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) took disciplinary measures against Omar Arjoune, midfielder of RS Berkane, as well as Zamalek, their opponent in the last CAF Confederation Cup final.

During its meeting on Friday, July 5th, the CAF Disciplinary Committee delivered its verdict:

Omar Arjoune, a player of Renaissance Sportive de Berkane, received a four-match suspension following his behavior during the Confederation Cup quarter-final against Abu Slim, where he vehemently expressed dissatisfaction with a referee’s decision.

As for Zamalek, who faced RSB in the 2023-2024 final, the club was fined $200,000 and ordered to play four matches behind closed doors, two of which are suspended. This sanction follows strong criticism regarding the organization of the return leg of the final.
