Vladimir Petkovic, the coach of the Algerian national team, has received encouraging news from Qatar.

Algerian center-forward Mohamed Benyettou shone during the round of 16 in the Prince Cup, scoring two decisive goals for his team, Al Wakrah, against Al Muaither.

The former ES Sétif player first found the back of the net with a powerful header in the first half, then scored a 3-3 equalizer from a penalty in overtime, bringing his total goals for the season to 18. Eventually, Al Wakrah secured their qualification via penalty shootout, with Benyettou converting his shot.

Meanwhile, Baghdad Bounedjah, also Algerian, contributed to the celebrations by scoring his 14th goal of the season for Al Sadd in an Emir Cup match, helping his team qualify over Al Merkhiya, coached by former Algerian international Madjid Bougherra.

These impressive performances have propelled both Algerian players into the quarterfinals of their respective competitions. These successes are great news for Petkovic, who is looking for efficient forwards capable of scoring and making a difference on the field.
