National team coach Vladimir Petkovic began his national tour yesterday to scout some players who could be selected in the future, by attending major club matches in the local championship directly from the stadiums.
In this regard, Petkovic attended yesterday’s Algerian Cup match between USM Alger and RC Bougaâ at the 5th of July Stadium. Accompanied by his assistant, Nabil Neghiz, the Bosnian coach observed several USM Alger players, notably Belaid, Benzaza, and the young defender Bounacer (19 years old), among others.
Petkovic then appeared at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran to follow the Algerian Cup quarter-final match between CS Constantine and ES Ben Aknoun.
Scheduled to return to Algiers to attend the WA Tlemcen – MC Alger match tomorrow, Petkovic plans to then travel to Europe to begin a European tour in the near future.
Petkovic’s tour demonstrates his commitment to exploring all possible options to strengthen the Algerian national team. The players observed during these matches could potentially join the ranks of the Fennecs in the near future as the team prepares for its upcoming challenges on the international stage.
