Reports in the media have revealed a surprise in the contract of Algerian national team defender Rayan Ait Nouri with Wolverhampton, potentially easing his transfer to Liverpool this summer.
The 23-year-old Algerian left-back has emerged as a prime target for Liverpool, who aim to strengthen their squad under new Dutch manager Arne Slot.
Rayan Aït-Nouri caught attention in the Premier League due to his outstanding performances with Wolves last season. His market value has risen to €35 million, making him one of the top five most expensive left-backs in the English league.
According to Liverpool Echo, Ait Nouri’s contract with Wolverhampton includes a release clause of £38 million. This clause would allow any interested club, such as Liverpool, to acquire him for a significantly lower amount than the £65 million initially demanded by Wolverhampton.
The Algerian national team player is under contract with Wolverhampton until the summer of 2026, with an option for an additional year. He joined the club in 2021 from Angers for €11.1 million and has played 116 matches with the team.
Last season, Aït-Nouri played 38 matches, scored 3 goals, and provided 2 assists, which increased his market value from €22 million in 2023 to €35 million currently. He is now the fourth most expensive left-back in the Premier League.
