A close associate of former national team coach Djamel Belmadi has criticized Algerian player Mohamed Amoura.

“Some have touted Amoura to Liverpool, others sent Ait Nouri to Manchester City, and Atal to Juventus; we’ve all become managers! Amoura has potential, but he doesn’t yet have the level required to play for a top club; he still has steps to climb,” said journalist Maataoui, known for his proximity to Djamel Belmadi.

As a reminder, previously in the works and now official: Mohammed El Amine Amoura, after an outstanding season in Belgium with 41 matches, 20 goals, and 7 assists, is joining the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg. According to reliable sources at La Gazette du Fennec, his transfer will be finalized this Sunday by the German club, and the Algerian will begin his preseason with his new teammates in Austria!

It was clear that after a stellar season in Belgium, Mohammed El Amine Amoura couldn’t avoid taking a new step in his career. Just one year after arriving at Union Saint-Gilloise from Lugano (Switzerland), he’s already leaving the club to join VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga for the upcoming season. At 24, the Algerian forward will proudly wear the number 9 shirt. His talent impressed Austrian coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, who has been in charge since last March and insisted on his signing, a wish granted by the Wolves’ management.

Despite interest from several top clubs like Marseille in France, Arsenal, VfB Stuttgart, Bayer Leverkusen, and even Liverpool, Amoura chose Wolfsburg, where he felt most wanted and had the best opportunity to confirm his potential and play a key role.

Also courted by Liverpool, with a conditional offer that could have seen him potentially replace Mohamed Salah this summer, Amoura opted for Germany. His decision to join Wolfsburg was strategic, made after careful consideration of his career path.

It’s a strategic move for Mohammed El Amine Amoura, who prefers to establish himself as a regular starter in the Bundesliga before aiming higher. This choice does not reflect any lack of ambition on the part of the Algerian international, who already boasts 26 caps and 6 goals for his country. After an exceptional season, he knows he must continue performing at the highest level to achieve his professional goals.
