The famous Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah, a star at Al Sadd for many years now, is on the verge of a major turning point in his career…

Saudi club Al-Shabab aims to recruit Algerian international Baghdad Bounedjah in the upcoming summer transfer window. Al-Shabab’s management is actively seeking to sign the Algerian forward from Al Sadd in Qatar, whose contract expires next summer. He would replace Senegalese forward Habib Diallo, who has struggled with just 4 goals in 25 league matches this season.

According to the source, Al-Shabab’s management aims to make Bounedjah their first signing for the next season as the team faces difficulties in attack.

Bounedjah has enjoyed significant success with Al Sadd over the past 8 years, winning numerous domestic and international titles, including the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in 2019 with the Algerian national team.

The Algerian forward has scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in 18 Qatar Stars League matches this season with Al Sadd, as well as 5 goals in 6 AFC Champions League matches.

It’s worth noting that Baghdad Bounedjah, who went through a tough period due to his inability to score, managed to break his goal drought after 10 consecutive matches during last Wednesday’s game. Coming off the bench, Bounedjah scored the 6th, 8th, and 9th goals (a hat-trick) in Al Sadd’s 9-1 victory over Al Ahli in the postponed match of the 13th round of the Qatar Stars League. Before this match, Bounedjah had played 10 consecutive matches with Al Sadd without scoring any goals, before breaking the curse in the eleventh match.
