Algerian international midfielder Houssem Aouar is going through a difficult period at his current club, AS Roma, on the eve of the summer transfer window opening in 2024.
Struggling for playing time, Algerian midfielder Houssem Aouar could depart from AS Roma during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Algerian international has only started in 8 out of 36 Serie A appearances this season with Roma. This situation has led coach Daniele De Rossi to include him on the list of players he wishes to offload this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reports that the club’s management has offered De Rossi a new three-year contract, as his current one expires on June 30th. The Italian coach has laid down conditions for his renewal, including the ability to manage the squad and offload certain players, including Aouar.
Aouar has been under contract with Roma since the summer of 2023, with his commitment running until June 2028. The Italian media does not specify whether his departure will be in the form of a permanent transfer or a loan.
Aouar’s future at Roma appears uncertain. The Algerian player has not hidden his discontent over his playing time in recent months. A departure this summer could allow him to regain confidence and reignite his career.
