Elimination for the World Cup, former Algerian coach Rabah Saadane sends a strong message to the Algerian national team coach Vladimir Petkovic.
Indeed, the legend of Algerian football and hero of the Omdurman epic, Rabah Saadane, has sent a powerful message to the coach of the Algerian national team, Swiss Vladimir Petkovic, ahead of the upcoming June camp and the matches against Guinea and Uganda in the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup, for the third and fourth rounds respectively of Group F, dominated by the Algerian national team with 6 points after two rounds.
Here is Rabah Saadane’s message:
“I would like to extend my sincere encouragement and best wishes for success to the Algerian national team, its technical staff, and its coach, Mr. Petkovic, ahead of the two upcoming important matches against Guinea and Uganda in the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup.
I am convinced that our players are capable of achieving great things and securing six points in these two matches, in order to consolidate their position as leaders of the group and to take a big step towards qualification for the final phase of the World Cup.
I appeal to all Algerians to support their national team and to stand behind it in these important moments. The national team needs the support of its people to realize its dreams and to proudly represent our country on the international stage.
I am confident that the Algerian national team will honor our country and bring us great joy in the upcoming matches.

The “Desert Warriors” will host Guinea on June 6 at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in the Algerian capital, before traveling to Kampala, the Ugandan capital, to face Uganda on June 10 at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium, also known locally as Namboole Stadium, which was rehabilitated at the last minute by the Confederation of African Football to host international matches after a long period of closure.
