AC Milan has unveiled the list of players who will travel to Australia over the next two days for a friendly match against AS Roma, paying tribute to one of football’s legends there.
The list reveals the absence of Algerian international Ismaël Bennacer. While the club has explained the reasons for the absence of each player, no explanation has been given for Bennacer’s.
As Milan’s tour in Australia concludes on June 2, just a day before the start of the Verts’ training camp, Bennacer, having played all the recent matches as a starter, might have failed to take a break before embarking on the journey with the Fennecs. A week of rest would be beneficial for him, especially considering his fatigue towards the end of the season.
On the other hand, AS Roma has not yet announced its list until yesterday. Therefore, it’s unknown whether Houssem Aouar will travel to Australia or not. Even if called up, a friendly match before the start of the Verts’ training camp might not necessarily be a bad thing for Aouar, who lacks competition and playing time.
