Saïd Benrahma, a player for the Algerian national team, has made history with Olympique Lyonnais by joining the club for a record fee.

Founded in 1950, Olympique Lyonnais officially announced the acquisition of Benrahma, the former winger of West Ham United, for €20.4 million. This transaction makes Benrahma the eighth most expensive player in the club’s history, according to a report released Monday on the official Olympique Lyonnais website.

At 28 years old, the Algerian international has signed a contract that ties him to the Lyon club until the summer of 2027. This significant acquisition underscores Olympique Lyonnais’ ambitions for the coming seasons. Benrahma, known for his technical skills, creativity, and offensive flair, is expected to bring a new dynamic to the team.

Benrahma began his career in France before making a name for himself in England. His time at Brentford FC in the Championship was particularly noteworthy, leading to his move to West Ham United in the Premier League. At West Ham, Benrahma showcased his qualities by contributing to numerous goals and becoming a key part of the team’s attack.
