Djamel Belmadi is once again making headlines in football circles, with his name strongly linked to the position of head coach for the Kuwait national team as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Despite Algeria’s bitter elimination in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, Belmadi remains a respected and admired figure in football. Known as the “Special One” of Africa, he is considered one of the continent’s most talented coaches.

For Belmadi, taking charge of the Kuwait national team would be an opportunity to bounce back after his departure from the Algerian national team.
