After a personally satisfying first season in Saudi Arabia, though marked by a disappointing collective performance that saw Al Ahli finish without a trophy, Riyad Mahrez will continue his journey with the club next season.

According to Arriyadiyah, German coach Matthias Jaissle has advised the club’s management to consider local and foreign offers for Allan Saint-Maximin (France), Roberto Firmino (Brazil), and Merih Demiral (Turkey).

He also expressed the need to recruit a forward to replace Firmino. The same source indicates that Franck Kessié (Ivory Coast), Roger Ibañez (Brazil), Edouard Mendy (Senegal), Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), and Gabriel Veiga (Spain) are part of Jaissle’s plans for the upcoming season.

Last Saturday, Al Ahli began their preparations for the new season with medical examinations and fitness tests for the first-team players.

They will travel to Austria on July 15th for a three-week training camp, including several friendly matches. Let’s recall that last season, Riyad Mahrez played 33 matches in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists, even finishing as the top assist provider in the Saudi league.
