Baghdad Bounedjah, the star Algerian striker, has signed a two-season contract with Qatari club Al-Shamal.
The transfer was officially announced by the club’s president, Ibrahim Al-Sada, marking a new chapter in Bounedjah’s career, which is already well-established in Qatar.
Hailing from Oran, Bounedjah made a name for himself through outstanding performances with Al-Sadd, where he scored 222 goals in 252 appearances over nine years with the team. His reputation as a prolific scorer precedes him, and Al-Shamal’s supporters hope he will bring the same energy and efficiency to their club.
While the destination has surprised some observers, especially fans of the Algerian national team, this transfer presents a unique opportunity for Bounedjah. Al-Shamal, traditionally lower in the Qatar Star League standings, could benefit from the striker’s experience and talent to improve their performances and aim for more honorable positions.
