Algerian international and Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaini has revealed a major secret about the German Bundesliga.
During an interview in Germany with beIN Sports, Bensebaini surprised the host by disclosing a strict rule in the Bundesliga: teams fine players 2500 euros for every 500 grams over the standard weight limit.
Currently undergoing rehabilitation, Bensebaini, known as one of the top Arab talents in Europe, is working towards returning to the field. Ahead of the new season in Germany, he received promising news: German media reports indicate he is on track to reclaim his starting position with Dortmund.
Bild has reported that Bensebaini is expected to start from the beginning of the season under the guidance of the club’s new manager, Nuri Sahin, who sees him as a key asset to bolster the team in the Bundesliga. His chances have been bolstered by defender Jan Matson’s departure to Aston Villa and growing interest in Turkish defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu from multiple clubs.
