Riyad Mahrez is indeed pushing for a player from the Algerian national team. This summer, several Algerian internationals are seriously considering a move to the Saudi Arabian league, attracted by its increasing appeal and opportunities presented by the Roshn Super League.
Currently, six Algerian players are playing in this league, with a possible seventh arrival alongside coach Noureddine Zekri, who was recently retained by Al Okhdood.
Among the names circulating, Adam Ounas stands out following his departure from Lille. At 27, the winger is being courted by at least three teams, notably Al Shabab and Ettifaq. His profile seems perfect for these mid-table clubs, offering a promising career relaunch opportunity.
Yacine Brahimi and Islam Slimani, two other Algerian internationals, are also on the market. Brahimi, after a successful season in Qatar, may seek one last contract with a lower half-table team. As for Slimani, despite often being courted by Gulf clubs, he has not yet made a firm decision on his next challenge.
Another player to watch is Abdelkahar Kadri, currently under contract with Courtrai in Belgium. This young talent is reportedly sought after by a top club in Saudi Arabia, with rumors pointing towards Al Ahli, where Riyad Mahrez already plays.
With the arrival of many international stars last season, the Saudi league has become a major attraction for players nearing the end of their contracts or seeking new challenges. Increased media visibility and attractive conditions offered by Saudi clubs are decisive factors in the choices of Algerian players this summer.
